Our Cretan roots
Kalitsounia are one of Crete’s best-loved traditional foods, made for family tables, celebrations and holidays.

A pie for the table
Kalitsounia are small pies filled with soft cheese or wild greens. For generations they have been made at home in Crete, often in large batches, to share with family, neighbours and guests. They are especially linked with Easter, and they still appear at celebrations through the year.
Every region has its own
There is no single recipe. The shape, the filling and the flavour change from region to region and from family to family. Some are sweet, with fresh myzithra and honey. Others are savory, with wild greens and herbs. Some are baked, others fried.
We keep that spirit alive: simple ingredients, patient hands and flavours that taste like home.
